Moving a bathtub is a hard and often expensive job. Unlike most other furniture or white goods, a bathtub requires an immense amount of time, effort and labour to move, due to its size, shape, weight and placement. You should first consider whether it is worth moving your bathtub to begin with. A bathtub is one of the more difficult and expensive items to move, so it is often cheaper and less hassle to leave it where is and purchase a replacement for your new home.
Assess the type and size of your bathtub, as well as the shape and size of your home (including its corridors and stairs). If you have lots of stairs or narrow and awkward corridors, it’s going to be difficult to manoeuvre it at all — even with lots of strong men and a pulley system. In the worst case scenario, a window might need to be removed to get the bathtub out, but this will require a window big enough for a bath.
Not to mention that if you move a bathtub more than a few feet away from its current location, you will likely need to install new plumbing. All of these factors should be considered before you make a decision.
Preparation
If you do decide to move your bathtub, you will need lots of strong hands, so hire an expert removals team.
