Prepare early
Summer usually means the temperature rises and people can become more irritated and tense due to the heat. As we all know the heat makes everything a bit more difficult. So, our best advice is to prepare as early as possible, this way you will able to make a plan to stick to instead of rushing around last minute in the heat.
Choose your moving date and time wisely
The summer months are always a busy time, the children are off school and everyone wants to go to the beach. To ensure you do not get caught up in the rush of the summer holidays, try and plan your move at a time when traffic will be at a minimum. It’s also wise to organise your moving day for a weekday if this is possible so that the roads and your area, in general, will be less busy as most people will be in work.
You can even go one step further if you have the flexibility and arrange your moving day for a day when bad weather is forecast, as people won’t be rushing around to make the most of the great weather and you could find the roads will be quieter.
Arrange childcare
As mentioned before, summer means the children are on their school holidays. So, make sure you arrange appropriate care for them before moving house, whether this means leaving them at a family members or friends. The moving day can be stressful enough without young children running around wanting to see what you’re doing and ‘help out’.
